Recently, four permanent magnet synchronous direct drive motors designed and manufactured by CLC for Nanjing High Precision Marine Equipment Co., LTD. 1MW cable laying pod propeller project have successively passed the test acceptance, classification society certification and delivery. The passing of the project marks a new level of SEC design and manufacturing level in Marine motors.。
The advanced Marine podded electric propulsion system is a propulsion motor directly connected with the propulsion propeller to form an independent propulsion module, and is suspended at the bottom of the hull. The propulsion module can rotate 360° horizontally, and the propulsion azimuths can be manually controlled and adjusted, thus eliminating the steering gear system and the corresponding control mechanism, greatly simplifying the control system. The advent of pod propulsion is a revolution in the way ships are propelled, which can be widely used in passenger ships (cruise or ferry), large container ships, drilling platforms, offshore engineering support vessels, passenger rolling vessels, yachts, scientific research vessels, salvage vessels and LNG vessels.
The pod electric propulsion system has the following advantages over the traditional Marine propulsion system:
